Kindergarten
It may be the only Montessori Kindergarten in Colorado which includes the entire Montessori preschool curriculum.
Our Kindergarten curriculum, instruction and techniques are extended to prepare the child for success in any educational setting whether public or private.
- Culture, science and geography studies with personal presenters and experience

- Accelerated Math (We know of no other school in which kindergarten children do dynamic borrowing and carrying to any place value without manipulatives!)

Language: Most pre-kindergartners are proficient with three letter words; many work with phonograms. Kindergarteners read all phonograms, long vowels and many sight words.
Math: Addition, subtraction, clock, calendar and measurement. Kindergarten year borrowing and carrying to any place value, multiplication and division, squares and cubes of numbers, functions with fractions.
Science: Vertebrates, invertebrates, climate, weather, rocks and minerals, life cycles of animals, solar system, plant studies and habitats.
Geography: Continents, land and water forms, countries, cultures.
Sewing: Picture sewing, pillows, special projects
Art: SW Montessori Preschool consistently and creatively extends the basic materials which formulate conceptual math and language skills into art. Art is the child’s first written language. It provides another means to represent the concept at hand and to internalize experiences to become knowledge. It provides a tool to stimulate focus, concentration, awareness, concept, memory, language and communication at home with parents. SW Montessori Preschool has art in every environment for every area of the curriculum. By kindergarten children are able to develop keen awareness of detail form, representations, relationships and concepts through art. We have a variety of mediums, utensils, techniques, materials, artists and curriculum extensions.
Music: Enjoyment, participation, basics (tempo, pitch), musical alphabet, percussion instruments, movement, bells, composers
Multiple learning Methods:
SW Montessori Preschool has evolved multiple materials, uses, methods, patterns and extensions to assist children with learning difficulties to form a method for the child to learn and a resulting pathway in the brain to intake information. Once the connection are formulated in the habits and brain of the young child this pathway allows informational intake around the disability.
